Volunteers are what make an organization such as the Petaluma Elks Lodge “work”!

We depend on our volunteers every day — and we have fun working together!  Whether it’s a dinner event for our members, delivering food baskets for those in need over the holidays, or providing dictionaries to 2nd graders in Petaluma, we appreciate each and every thing our volunteers do to help us in our mission to serve those who need a helping hand. Why don’t you join in?

We need help with Cashier Food Serving, Set up for events, Clean up for events, Kitchen Prep, Decorating, Scorers for Hoop Shoot & Soccer Shoot, General maintenance. Whether you have a little time or a lot of time available, there is a role for you.

Current committee opportunities include: Audit & Accounting Americanism Drug Awareness Elks National Foundation Hoop Shoot Membership Public Relations Scholarship Soccer Shoot State Major Project Veterans Service .

Dictionary Program
It’s primary focus is to promote literacy to children in third-grade as they transition from learning how to read to identify and use information. Over the course of the program nearly 15 million third-grade students have received dictionaries including about 2.5 million dictionaries donated in 2009.

Drug Awareness
The Elks are committed to eliminating the use and abuse of illegal drugs by all members of society and believe that in order to ensure a bright future for our country, it is essential that our children be raised in a drug-free environment.

Lodge Events – Site Security
We offer our facilities for events (weddings, reunions, memorials) and, depending upon the size of the event, need Site Security to manage the flow of attendees, make sure that only those invited are attending, and that the party as a whole are following the rules they agreed to in the signed contract.  For large parties, there are usually 2-3 Site Security present.

Lodge Officers
We also have an elite group of volunteers that act as our Lodge Officers.  These folks work as the leadership team for the Lodge, compete against other lodges in our district in performing the Initiation Ritual, and participate in the monthly meetings and periodic planning sessions to insure the continued success of the lodge.

Membership
We have a large membership and always need help!  Annually, we need help processing membership renewal.  We also need several volunteers to help call delinquent members and obtain dues to reduce member lapsation.  Help us achieve our annual “+1” Goal — end the year with a count of at least one more member than we had last year, so we can continue to serve our community.
